Why Learn about SEO's

According to a website called Rank For Sale "the true definition of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be stated as a highly specialized process of building a successful website. We say successful because if a commercial website cannot be found in the major search engines, it is not successful, it just isn't doing it's job."

Most of those people giving us new information on how to earn money with our writing will mention search engine optimization. The SEO professional choice needs our attention and we should be very careful when we choose that person they say. Many of us do not earn enough money to hire a professional to help us...at least not yet...but we do need to know what they are and how they work. We do that by arming ourselves with more knowledge. Floundering around in the dark, it turns out, is not a good thing. I have some great tips for your use...the rest is up to you.

Staying on the subject!

One thing that a SEO professional will do is help you build a website around your business or interest. Staying focused is very important. Especially if you are like me...a writer of what crosses my mind. If I find something interesting I assume that you will too. Because I am a blog writer, many blogs revolve around those miscellaneous subject that appeal to the blog's audience. I love the research involved. But it also displays a lack of focus which creates a problem for adsense and for me personally. As so many have said it doesn't really matter if you write great material if no one reads it.

By using a keyword search, we can find ideas for articles while staying in the same arena of knowledge. By doing this we become experts of sorts. The more we know and write about a subject the closer people will pay attention. It does not matter what the forum is. Blogging and Hub writing is much the same. I am going quit being "all over the place." I know that I can write many articles about a few subjects I find interesting.

Tip: The Google crawler is not going to bring more traffic if we publish the same material in several places...how it knows what we have done I don't understand but it does. Multiple sites with the same articles will not get more people to read.

Inspiration for Keywords...from YouTube to Typos

I spent my evening yesterday on a site called SEO.com/blog. There were several articles, each with it's own value in our quest for better audience connection and earnings. With a big bank of information we could become our own OPTIMIZERS! Learning as much about SEO Strategies might make us Super-Hubbers of a sort!

The article that caught my eye right away was the one on finding KEYWORDS...it seems they are the key to everything. If we choose good titles and content relating to keywords that actually pay, it seems so simple. But building a bank of these words can take a great deal of time.

I have been a fan of Google Adwords for sometime. Information is readily available. We can even find keywords and how much they pay at no cost at all. One hubber said he never wrote anything with the word free in it...but his hub information contained a link to this (free) information.

There are twists and turns to this process too. Goggle Adwords is not going to do all the work for us. We need to know where to start. Finding a spark of inspiration is the foundation for all our writing. I found a conversation on a the SEO Blog about keywords they used from places like Twitter and YouTube. This person said they were looking at how many hits subjects from YouTube had received to get a feel for what interested people. Another person suggested that typos might be a good resources for idea. I was so impress with these idea and tried each one. They were absolutely right! This is the real deal...you will find something you know about or would like to know about. When you added this data to the Google Adword finder, you can use those keywords that pay most with the least competition.

This is information that the SEO professional knows...we can make good use of this knowledge.

Poison Words

Have you ever heard of Poison Words? I found a website that listed words that adsense does not like...very much. People may come to read but evidently no one wants to advertise for these words. The list included all words related to death, pornography, gambling (including Las Vegas) and those famous George Carlin cuss words. It had never occurred to me that Google had a morality factor unless people just went over the edge. It appears that the dark side of the internet is not welcome...at least with them.

Let's Talk Soon!

It happens every time I write an article like this...I come away a better educated person.  I hope I can get some feed back from you.  A dialogue will help us all.

Have a wonderful day.
